CNA Program Overview

Moraine Valley Community College offers a comprehensive Basic Nurse Assistant Training (BNAT) program at their Palos Hills campus and Education Center at Blue Island. This professionally designed curriculum prepares students for careers as Certified Nursing Assistants through rigorous classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and clinical experience.

CNA Program Structure

Core Components

  • 64 hours of classroom lectures
  • 40 hours of skills laboratory training
  • 40 hours of clinical rotations
  • 4 hours of emergency care education
  • Specialized Alzheimer’s care instruction

Performance Requirements

  • Master 21 manual skills mandated by Illinois Department of Public Health
  • Maintain minimum grade “C” performance
  • Complete all required clinical hours
  • Demonstrate competency in patient care skills

Basic Eligibility

  • Minimum age: 17 years
